System Prerequisites

Operating System

Supported operating systems are the following:

  • Windows Server 2012 R1 (x86/x64) et R2 (x64) and later versions

Browser

WSC is not compatible with Internet Explorer (IE) Browser.

Sizing

For optimal operation of the Watchdoc Supervision Console, it's recommended to have, at least, the following prerequisites:

  • Processor: 1 core minimum

  • RAM: 512 Mo available

  • Hard disc: 256 Mo (+/- 1,5 Ko per print queue)

  • Ports

  • Watchdoc Supervision Console uses the ports 5756 or 5757 in TCP.

     

If the configuration includes a (firewall), this last must allow accesses on Watchdoc and Watchdoc Supervision Console servers via these ports.

Software prerequisites

Microsoft® .Net Framework

Watchdoc uses the Microsoft® .NET Frameword (4.7.2.) technology.

This framework, free downloadable from the Microsoft® web site, must mandatory be installed.

Data Base

The data of the cards users are stored in a relational database. This database must be accessible from the server and the account.

The relational databases' servers supported are the following:

  • Microsoft SQL Server (configured in mixed mode : SQL and Windows Authentication)

  • PostgreSQL

  • SQLite

Watchdoc can accesses the Microsoft® SQL Server database only with a SQL user account and not with a Windows® user account. 
Otherwise, if the SQL server is a remote server, check that the TCP/IP protocol is activated in SQL Server Configuration Manager.

If the database is unavailable, WSC can operate in degraded mode. In this case, a message informs administrators/users of the loss of functionality that is no longer fully operational.

LDAP Directory

Information about users stored in the statistical database are obtained from the Compagny LDAP directory.

This directory must then be accessible from the WSC server.

 

Supported directories are the following:

  • Active Directory®

  • Open LDAP®

The Watchdoc® Supervision Console have 2 modules (Cards management and Guests management) included in the Watchdoc license.

 

Others modules need a specific license (called Supervision Option), delivered by Doxense® upon receipt of a valide license application containing the following information:

  • the licence made

  • name of the customer;

  • name of the server on which is installed WSC;

  • adresse MAC address of the server network card on which WSC is installed.]

Installation pack

The Watchdoc Supervision Console installation package is downloadable from Connect, the dedicated extranet of Doxense®.

The installation archive contains the installation files of the.NET 4.7.2 framework and the fichier Supervision Bootstrapper.exe file.
