Waiting time for displaying the Reports

Context

From the Watchdoc Main Menu, when you click on Reports to access the Prints made during a certain period's reports, it may occurs that the reports do not appear immediatly and need few seconds to be displayed.

Cause

This problem arises because the statistical data base is heavy and the IIS services delays or those of the Watchdoc statistical data base are not sufficient.

Resolution

To solve this problem, proceed in stages. If an operation does not fix the problem, continue to the next operation:

  1. Operation 1: reorganise and rebuilt the data base index to optimize performances. If the optimization is not sufficiant, you can, if necessary, reduce the data base size thanks to the SHRINK command (specify, then, that you want to keep at least 10% of free space during this operation).

  1. Opération 2: modify the IIS service execution timeout;

a. go to the server on which is installed the Watchdoc IIS service and launch the inetmgr command ;

b. in the IIS Manager, select the Watchdoc web site;

c. in the IIS applications list, click on ASP;

d. in the ASP properties list, go to the Behavior section and deploy the Limits properties section;

e. verify the Client Connection Test interval and set it according to the execution time of the request set in Watchdoc, the latter must be higher;

  1. Operation 3: modify the connection to the statistical data base timeout and the production requests execution timeout in Watchdoc:

a. from the Watchdoc Main menu, in the Configuration section, click on the Advanced configuration > Statistics database;

b. in the Statistics database, click on the button;

c. in the Expert Mode section, verify the timeout SQL execution request timeout value: this timeout must be less than the execution time of the IIS script:
