Watchdoc - Evolution of port 5744

In versions prior to v.6.1.1, communications between the Watchdoc server and the IIS web server pass through port 5744 using the Microsoft.NET Remoting protocol.

For these versions, we therefore do not recommend installing Watchdoc in remote mode (different Watchdoc server and IIS web server).

In versions v. 6.0.1.5221 to v. 6.0.1.5318, port 5744 is automatically secured to allow only traffic from the Watchdoc domain. In remote mode, this port must therefore be configured to authorise communications between Watchdoc and the remote website (see Configuring port 5744 in the firewall).

From v. 6.1.1 onwards, communications between the IIS web server and the Watchdoc server pass via port 5744 in HTTPS (see Network flow diagram). It is therefore no longer necessary to configure port 5744 when Watchdoc is in remote mode.

Furthermore, in a default configuration, the 5744 _crystal HTTPS entry point should not be disabled.
