Watchdoc Client for Windows for Windows - Usage in the event of a breakdown

Use direct printing in the event of a breakdown

To the right of the location, a dot indicates the connectivity status between the application and the print server(s):

  • grey: WPC is being installed, the connection has never been initiated.

  • black: WPC cannot find a server configured for this location. It may be a problem of choice of location (user) or configuration (administrator).

  • red: all configured servers are down.

  • orange: at least 1 of the configured servers is down.

  • green: all configured servers are operational.

If the print server fails, WPC offers two solutions.

  1. Start the print job from your workstation. A Windows® notification from WPC indicates that the universal queue is unavailable due to a server failure.

  2. Click on the Windows® notification (at the bottom right of your workstation screen).

  1. Choose one of the following options:

    1. either wait until the server is available again to print :

    2. print directly to one of the available devices (to be chosen from a list of devices to which you have already authenticated), in which case the job requested is printed without authentication or validation. It is therefore preferable to be close to the printing device, especially if the document is confidential.

  2. Go to the device to retrieve your printout.
