WES Samsung- Prerequisites and prior configuration

Technical prerequisites

XOA-E (eXtensible Open Architecture Embedded) is the name of the technology developed by Samsung to enable embedded applications to be installed on its range of printing devices.

 

To install WES v2, devices must be compatible with XOA-E version 1.16 (min.).

Pre-configuration of printing devices

The configuration of the Samsung WES must be preceded by a configuration on the device from its web administration interface.

Before connecting, check that the value for Domain is LOCAL.

  1. Access the Samsung device configuration web interface.

  2. Log in by clicking on the Login button.

  3. From the Maintenance menu, click Application Management and then Application.

  4. In the Application section, click the Add button.

  5. In the folder C:\Program Files\Doxense\Watchdoc\redist\, select the WesSamsung.par application file.

  6. Click OK to confirm the choice of file.

  7. Click again on the successive OK buttons to launch the installation. An alert message indicates that the application has not been verified by the Samsung Testing programme.

  8. Check that the value corresponding to the WesSamsung parameter is Enabled.

  9. Click on the Security menu item and then User Access Control.

  10. Check that the value WatchdocAAProvider is selected as AAMethod.
    N.B.: This line of the table may not appear immediately. If you don't see it, wait a few minutes and then refresh the page. If the option appears but is not ticked, tick it and click Apply.

  11. Click Login Page, check that Watchdoc-LUI is selected as LUI Login Page and then click Apply.

  12. In the web interface, click on the Security tab and then System log ;

  13. In the Log Configuration interface, check that all features are enabled (Enable box ticked), then click Apply.
