When a queue is operating in “Validation” mode, once printing has started, the user must release their document on the device (see Configuring a queue > Mode).
By default, the lifetime of a document in the print queue is 8 hours. After this time, if the user has not unlocked the document, the print job is deleted. This default 8-hour period applies to all queues (universal, virtual, or physical).
This lifetime can be configured, as can the processing applied to the print job after this time: deletion, archiving, automatic unlocking (see Configuring a queue > Restriction section).
